Thai Affair was born out of a love of travel. During a travelling adventure made spontaneously to see my friends, I met Leandro - my now life partner - who was entertaining the idea that the rolled ice cream we had seen in Southeast Asia could be the foundation to a cool new venture.

Fueled by daydreams and market research, I decided to bring the idea to life. Because we lived in separate countries, my vision was to build a seasonal business where the off-season would allow me to see him every year, escape the winter, and continue to travel. A little hustle and perseverance later, Thai Affair Rolled Gelato launched out of a tiny stand by the beach in White Rock, BC in summer 2017.

Raised by a sheer work of love (and endless hours of hard work), Thai Affair was met with enthusiasm by both locals and tourists. Thanks to the love and support of the community, and the work of our ever-growing, brilliant team throughout the years, it quickly expanded to other locations. And yes – Leandro finally made his way to Canada :) We now work together to serve premium rolled gelato every summer at White Rock beach, Richmond Night Market, Creekside Park and Kitsilano Beach.
